Cultural cooperation is a tradition in the Nordic countries. But the world
has changed. Globalisation makes new demands. We have to find new ways of
cooperating to be able to claim cultural values both on a national level and
internationally.
The Nordic countries have also became a region in the new Europe and in EU,
something that makes new demands. What is the best way to get oriented in this
changeable world? What have we, the Nordic countries, in common? Maybe we have
to give up the old nordic rhetoric and look reality in the eyes and ask
ourselves which new network we should seek or form.
But there are things worth to maintain, like the nordic tradition of copyright
for instance. And what about our new neighbours on the other side of the Baltic
sea?
